Holiday home for max. 4 persons
Kinheim-Kindel, Moselle-Saar-Ruwer, Germany
Presently this holiday rental is not on offer for booking. Instead look for alternatives in Kinheim-Kindel, in Rhineland-Palatinate or in Germany.
Guest quote: “a pearl on the Moselle. When we drove around, we always unconsciously compared, we didn't see anything better, really.”
The house and balcony are made for guests like this, when you drink wine on the spacious balcony, have a barbecue and look at the Moselle and vineyards, you are in your own film of life, it is a magical place.
The accommodation
First of all, the huge wooden balcony is for me the most beautiful box seat for the Moselle and vineyards on the Middle Moselle - you sit there with a wine, look at the panorama and are happy, whether it is morning, midday or evening.
This marvel is constructed in such a way that you always have sun or shade, you can see everything but at the same time you can't see it, also because the house is so special, elevated on the railway embankment. It is in a very quiet location.
There is a lot of space under the balcony, a lawn and a wonderful barbecue area, but it is practically not used because the balcony offers so much more. That's why there is wild meadow there, only the weeds are regularly removed so that the lovingly laid stone floor does not grow over.
What is really popular, however, is that you can park your car there comfortably; it couldn't be any closer to the house and safer.
The two bedrooms are actually like two separate studios, almost like holiday apartments in a holiday home, and can be reached separately via two staircases, can be separated by a classy loft element and can be cooled separately:
Quote from a guest: "The air conditioning is great by the way, slept really well"
Bedroom 1 has its own small bathroom with a sink and toilet and can be reached via a gallery with a spiral staircase via the kitchen.
There is also a huge panoramic window with a direct view of the Moselle, which is incredibly beautiful in itself and is absolute highlight number 2 after the box seat.
On the gallery, above the kitchen, there is another bedroom, which I once set up for three musicians and was intended as an emergency solution, but I think it's cool now and under normal circumstances it is the wardrobe for bedroom 1.
There is no television here, but there is fast internet.
Excerpt from Hans Josef Ortheil The Moselle Journey: A Child's Novel because it fits so well:
I asked Dad why he always walked along rivers and Dad replied that there were particularly beautiful places and cities on beautiful rivers and that the sight of a beautiful river was very calming and went deep into the soul. People on rivers and by the sea are usually a little calmer and more level-headed, and he likes that....
Access for guests
The house and garden are only for guests, there is no one else there.
The lower floor is not inhabited and is a storage room because the Moselle likes to visit, especially between Christmas and New Year.
The main access is from Schiffergasse. You can also walk to the house over the railway embankment, or drive your car into the garden and park there, the guests love that.
Speaking of flooding, you usually have that in winter until March and the only danger is for the cars, which
should be moved to the raised parking spaces, or park in the garden in front of the house, see above.
